What is Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a holistic therapy that supports and strengthens the body’s natural ability to heal and balance itself. It stimulates the body’s vital energy (known as Qi or Ki). The treatment works to improve the flow of energy throughout the body and acts additionally on the
muscular, nervous and circulatory systems. The client is supported in their efforts to become more aware of their body, mind and spirit as an integrated whole.

Holistic Transformation - Coaching Sessions

Embracing a holistic approach, my transformation sessions blend the wisdom of two contrasting yet complementary perspectives. Drawing from the cyclic philosophy of Eastern Traditions, we delve into life's rhythms to uncover profound meanings and cultivate harmony within ourselves and the world around us. Simultaneously, we embrace the structured, linear methods of Western civilization to effectively pursue and achieve our goals. Guiding my clients, I facilitate the recognition and realization of their full potential, fostering integration across heart, mind, body, and spirit for holistic growth and fulfillment.

What to Expect

During the initial consultation, I'm going to ask you about your lifestyle, habits, current health condition and any areas that require special attention. Then I will leave the room to allow you to change. The treatment is about one hour long.  The session starts with Hara diagnosis. In Japanese culture the Hara is our vital centre.
I use gentle holding, applied pressure with palms, thumbs and fingers on the meridians and, when appropriate, I use more dynamic rotations and stretches.

Guidelines For Receiving Shiatsu

Treatments are given with the client fully clothed.
Please bring or wear loose, warm, comfortable clothing, preferably natural materials, e.g. sweatshirt with long sleeves, tracksuit trousers, and cotton socks.
Do not eat heavily in the two hours prior to treatment. Do not drink alcohol before or after treatment. After treatment drink plenty of water to smooth the flow of changes through the system. If at all possible avoid strenuous or stressful activities after your session.
